A plate with no data-stroke-highlight is the file before an operator is inferred. On an after plate, cinnabar is the first inferred argument and indigo the next. A plate without that attribute is not recolored. Click a plate to replay. With reduced motion the finished character stays still, and the colors stay. The draw timings are unchanged. The plate stays cream in either theme.

How a box becomes an operator
- Position row
- The operator already used on Operator trees: the row whose position multiset equals the kvg:position values. This page does not replace it. An operator with no asterisk is that row.
- Inferred operator
- An Ideographic Description Character chosen from the bounding boxes of the slots, and only when the composition has no kvg:position row. It is marked with an asterisk. It is not a fact recorded in the file.
- Abstain
- The boxes do not pick one arrangement, the arity is outside 2 or 3, a stated position conflicts with the boxes, or the only candidate would be an overlap with no spatial argument order. The node stays without an operator.
- Full tree
- Every composition in the character has an operator, either a position row or an inferred operator. A character that still has one abstention is not full.
- Hit
- A full tree whose depth-first spatial walk is stroke 1 through N. The argument order is the row when the row exists, and the geometric order when the operator was inferred.
- Walk miss
- A full tree whose spatial walk is not stroke 1 through N, and which is not inside-first, frame-last, or part-split. The attempt gave every node an operator, and the recorded order is a different walk.
