筆順 · turn between strokes
Turning between strokes and order
The angle between the direction a stroke arrives and the direction the next stroke leaves, for every consecutive pair in the 2,136 jōyō characters.
These are frequencies in one KanjiVG snapshot. A frequent turn is not a rule that the next stroke must turn by that angle.
Click a plate to replay. With reduced motion the finished character stays still. A small arc at the midpoint between one stroke’s end and the next stroke’s start appears when the next stroke has started. Indigo is a near-continuation, at most 30°. Gold is a turn between those thresholds. Cinnabar is a reversal, at least 150°. A plate without the turn attribute draws no arc.
- Near-continuation, at most 30°
- A turn between 30° and 150°
- Reversal, at least 150°
