Counts and means only. No conclusions are drawn from the comparison. These are counts in one KanjiVG snapshot. A list is not a rule of stroke order, and it does not say what a character means.
Click a plate to replay. With reduced motion the finished character stays still. These plates set no extra attribute. The plate stays cream in either theme. The draw timings are unchanged.

How the list is read
- Kokuji
- A character a cited page calls 国字 and places in the jōyō list. 漢字辞典オンライン says a 国字 is a character made in Japan, also called 和字 or 和製漢字. モジディク says a 国字 is a character made in Japan. The same page says the 常用漢字表 prints no 国字 heading.
- A character kept
- A character that both pages list, and that 漢字辞典オンライン does not mark with ※. The order on this page is the order of that page, with a marked character skipped.
- A character left out
- A character that one page lists and the other does not, or that 漢字辞典オンライン marks with ※. The mark means the pages’ sources disagree on whether the character is a 国字. This page does not measure a left-out character.
- A KanjiVG main file
- Stroke count and top-level slot arity are the valence-atlas measures. A kvg:part split and its gap are the leave-and-return measures. A measure counts a character only when the main file for that code point exists.
