筆順 · one character, more than one file
Alternate orders
KanjiVG sometimes ships a second SVG for the same character. Some of those files write the same strokes in another order. Some redraw the strokes and leave the order where it was.

王 · the vertical is s2 in the main file and s4 in VtLst.
Gold strokes sit at a different index in the other file. The cinnabar stroke is the first index where the two sequences disagree. A cinnabar border marks the variant file. Click a plate to replay. With reduced motion the finished character stays still, and the colors stay.

The same character, played twice
Each pair is the main file and a file KanjiVG shipped beside it. Stroke classes below are the first character of kvg:type, so ㇑a is written ㇑. The numbers are that file’s own -sN order.
Vertical last
VtLst moves a vertical to the end of its run. 王 is above. 生 and 国 do the same thing one step later in the character.
Horizontal first
HzFst puts a horizontal ahead of the vertical that led in the main file. On 止 and 長 that is a swap of the first two strokes.
A dot, and a numbered vertical
Ten3 is KanjiVG’s name for a 必 whose dot is not first. Vt6 is a vertical written as the sixth stroke. TenLst is the 卵 file: the variant ends on ㇔, and the main file ends on ㇑.
癶, two ways
Dg3 and DgLst are KanjiVG’s names for stroke-order variants of 癶. 発 has both. The right half of 癶 is three strokes. The main file writes ㇒, ㇏, ㇒. Dg3 writes ㇏, ㇒, ㇒. DgLst writes ㇒, ㇒, ㇏. Strokes s1–s2 and s6–s9 keep the same classes in all three files.
Vertical first, a vertical moved forward, horizontal last
VtFst on 至 swaps s4 and s5, so the vertical precedes the horizontal that had preceded it. MdFst is not glossed on KanjiVG’s variant page. In 非 the right-hand vertical moves from s5 to s2. HzLst is glossed “horizontal last”. In 表 the vertical moves from s2 to s4, and the two horizontals that followed it are written before it.
劇, left to right and right to left
右 and 左 are different characters, and neither has an extra file here. They are on Same parts, different order. 劇 does have the left-to-right pair, on the two strokes KanjiVG numbers s3 and s4. The main file and HzFstLeRi write s3 ㇒, s4 ㇖. HzFstRiLe and VtFstRiLe write s3 ㇖, s4 ㇒. HzFst also swaps the first two strokes; VtFst leaves them vertical then horizontal.
田 and 由
田 has only a Kaisho file. The five stroke classes stay in the same order. 由 has that file and KaishoVtLst, which moves the vertical from s3 to s5. The box that looks like 田 on Same parts, different order is a comparison across characters. The second order of one character, here, is 由.
耳
耳 has Kaisho, which keeps every index, and KaishoVt3, which moves the right-hand vertical from s6 to s3. Vt3 is not on KanjiVG’s variant list. Vt4 and Vt6 are glossed there as a vertical at that index, and in this file the vertical is the third stroke.
The order stays
These Kaisho files keep every stroke at its index. The paths are still redrawn: a match of start points is not a match of curves. KanjiVG’s own note on the suffix says the kaisho file usually means a shape such as 月 or 日 whose middle stroke does not reach the right side. 書 has no order suffix, only this one. 飛 and 感 have no extra file at all.
Counts by suffix
What the token means
The glosses follow KanjiVG’s variant page where that page describes the suffix. Where it does not, the sentence is what these jōyō files do. A file can carry more than one token: KaishoVtLst is counted under both. LeFst, MdLst, NoDot, and a bare Hz, Vt, Le, or Ri are on that page and on no jōyō character in this snapshot.

Every extra file
One row per extra file of a jōyō character. “First” is the first stroke index where the variant is not the same stroke as the main file. “Moved” is how many matched strokes sit at a different index. A blank first column means every matched stroke kept its index.
